COVID-19 UPDATE

06/25/2020

Dear Parent:

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. We are looking forward to getting back to seeing your children for their dental needs. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your family’s safety.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and State Agencies. We follow the activities of all of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We have implemented enhanced infection control measures Some of the measures include: medical grad air purifiers throughout the office, all staff wearing surgical grade or higher masks/power respirators, routine disinfectant fogging of the office, extra-oral suction unit used during aerosol producing procedures, constantly sanitizing both treatment and non-treatment areas, enhanced HEPA/UVC filtration and increased fresh air intake on our HVAC system, scheduling changes to accommodate social distance recommendations.

You will see these infection control measures when it’s time for your child’s next visit. Also, in order to allow for social distancing in our office, further changes will be implemented. For example:

  • When you arrive to the office, the parking lot will serve as a virtual waiting room. You will call our office to let us know of your arrival.
  • Our office will communicate with you PRIOR TO THE APPOINTMENT to ask some screening questions. Additionally, you will be asked those same questions at the appointment.
  • You and your child will need to enter the office with a mask. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided.
  • After sanitizing your hands and your child’s hands, we will take a TEMPERATURE of both you and your child. ****Please note: NO OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO WAIT IN THE WAITING ROOM. Your child will be escorted to the treatment area. TO HELP WITH SOCIAL DISGTANCING, WE ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGING PARENTS TO GO BACK AND WAIT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE APPOINTMENT IN THE CAR.
  • -Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. Therefore, this may mean you will have fewer options in scheduling your child’s appointments.
  • In addition, the normal one-on-one consults with Dr. Jody will NOT always be completed face to face at your child’s appointment. Should you need a conversation or consult with Dr. Jody, we will be offering phone consults and/or TeleDentistry consults. We will give more information regarding this service at your child’s appointment.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the office. Thank you for being part of our dental family. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jody and Staff
